New
Mexico 2007 the "Land of Enchantment"
Vicki and Travis boarded a Southwest
Airline flight to Albuquerque
NM on Friday October 19, 2007. Our destination was the Scherer
Institute of Natural Health. ( a very nice massage school, with
friendly staff) located 55 mile north in Santa Fe New
Mexico to attend the Anatomy
Trains Workshop. We read about about his
"revolutionary re-vision of musculo-skeletal
anatomy in terms of functionally connected lines of
myofascia" . . . gives a new perspective and
a new way to assess clients' posture and movement."
on the web. We just had to take the course since we very interested in movement, posture, and how they might
relate to pain and athletic performance.

|
Here Peter Ehlers, the talented
teacher of the "Anatomy Trains"
uses Travis to demonstrates his version of how
to work the Psoas. My experience was very positive with
the class, the school, and his bodywork. I had a
productive session with Peter after the class.

We stayed the first two
night at the Sunrise
Springs Resort which is a few miles south of Santa
Fe. Vicki and I really liked this resort. The
people were friendly and the serenity of the resort was
spectacular. We did
some swimming in the heated pool, hiked from the resort,
took wonderful hot tub soaks.

| Here is the Cathedral
Church of San Francis of Assisi located
in Santa Fe close to the famous square, and historic downtown.
Vicki and I love old buildings. This Church was founded in 1610 at
the same time as Santa Fe. It was then called
"Our Lady of the Assumption Church."
Only the chapel remains of the original building.
The modern building was build in 1807. |

Ojo
Caliente Springs
We had a grand time
here. We put mud on each other, swam in the 75 degree
pool and bathed in the hot mineral springs. We gave
each other a massage because all the many massage therapists were booked
up.

Vicki took this photograph of the Sanrge de Cristo
mountains as we were driving toward Taos on Highway 64
from the town of Tres Piedras. Check out the snow on the
mountains.

Here is a picture of one of many off the
grid underground homes that are super environmentally
conscious in a development on the way to Taos. We
toured one of the homes and were very impressed.

The Walls are make of waste tires and
rammed earth inside them. They are later covered with Stucco
and not seen anymore. What a great way to deal with our
used tire problem.

Another picture of the Earthship home
that is available for tours. The cost was $5.00. The front
facing the sun is spectacular with wall the glass.
This home has a greenhouse inside to grow vegetables on
the recycled water of the home which is then used to flush
the toilets.

We took a quick tour of Taos and the went 4 miles south to
the Adobe Pines
Bed and Breakfast. The Inn is owned by Louis
& Katherine Costabel, a
very nice couple who did their best to make sure that we
had a pleasant stay. Above is some of the chainsaw
art on the property. Chad
Haspels was working on a bear while we were
there. What a good way to make us of dead
trees.

ate dinner. Guests are made to feel most welcome here by

We stayed our last night in Santa Fe at the Ten
Thousand
Waves. The resort is located a few miles east from Santa Fe on Artist Road. The rooms are patterned
in a Japanese style. We loved all the extras in the room
such as fruit, melodious music playing upon our arrival,
and robes, The resort is
so popular that they make no apologies about charging your
credit card immediately upon booking. Artist Road leads to
great hiking and later to The
Ski Santa Fe Ski Resort. There are spectacular 70 mile
plus views of the desert from the drive to the Ski
resort.

Here is Travis with wild blueberry tea after visiting the
hot tub, sauna and a 50 degree cold plunge
well that can be accessed by a ladder. I alternated
between the hot and cold 7 times in the ancient
tradition. The water was so cold that my bones
ached. I did feel wonderful afterward.

Travis and Vicki had two great hike in
the Sante Fe National Forest on (the Chamisa
Trail 183 which has an elevation of 7800 to 8400) about 5 miles from Downtown
Santa Fe. We took Artist Road East to get there, which is
State Road 475 and is also know as Hyde Park Road.

People
who are serious about their health and
relationships will walk on the path
of positive thinking, positive feelings,
positive actions and good attitudes.
Humor, thankfulness, happiness,
forgiveness, love, hope, altruism,
optimism, joy, peace, anticipation,
patience and cooperation are some of the
fruits found on this path. The
opposite path of negative thinking,
negative feelings, negative actions, and
negative attitudes, leads to great harm
physically, mentally and spiritually. Some
of the fruits of this path are
pride, blame, hate, guilt, greed, shame,
judgmental thinking, envy, revenge, anger,
jealousy, self doubt, fear, depression,
pessimism, and the need to be
"right" at all costs.
